Are Gaming Headsets just Better than Audiophile Headphones Now?

Wireless gaming headsets used to be a joke when it came to sound quality… but that’s no longer true. Join Resolve as he digs into why modern wireless headsets like the HyperX Cloud III Wireless S, Audeze Maxwell, and Sennheiser HDB 630 can genuinely compete with—and often outperform—wired audiophile closed-back headphones.

The Hyper X isn’t audiophile…..but is probably the most comfortable thing you’ve ever worn on your head, particularly when it turns into hours and hours. And the metal constructed head and cup retention that works amazingly isn’t that good? And the sound that is pretty damned good or very damned good for the price being asked is not really that good?
If you look up the Blue BT standards, you’ll see they have traditionally used very significant levels of compression. So much so, that it was, or is noticeable to many , many people instantly.
Been using gaming HyperX products for years. I’ve never notice all gaming headset products were no good.

  3. You make so much sense, it’s refreshing. Except try to aim for a continuous take, instead of aggressive clipping that disrupts the natural rythmic flow of your speech

  4. Very quick question on the maze 99 classics, did you find them incredibly closed off? Like everything sounds like it’s in only one spot? No instrument separation, no special positioning it’s just in one spot regardless of where it was intended to be heard from? Or was it just my set that was bad?

im glad to see the wireless space is catching up in terms of sound quality , although my main sticking point of wired vs wireless is the thing that makes them wireless in the first place , the battery WILL die , and not just oh i need to recharge them at some point ( typically within 5 years if taken care of properly ) that battery will no longer hold charge and the whole headphone is a massive brick( for most headphones i know some offer aux out) vs if i take care of my wired headphones whether it be a FT1 or DT770 or even hyperx own wired offerings etc etc etc. ( altho i have had bad experience with hyperx’s build quality and my fat head braking the band retaining brackets but that’s my own issue i suppose your milage may vary ). they will be around for decades might need a pad swap or replace a cable but they will be around . that might not be important to everyone but i just i cant get behind that kind of disposability in my own equipment . i think i would like to see replicable batteries at the very least
